|How long have you been involved with HSAR Dogs and what is your role?
I’ve been involved since September 2012. I’m an operational support and a swiftwater rescue technician.
|How and why did you get involved?
I got involved because I enjoy being in the great outdoors, and I can utilise my medical skills to benefit a different category of patient.
|What are the most and least rewarding aspects of being part of the team?
The most rewarding aspect is being part of a team that can make such a difference to others, irrespective of outcome. The least rewarding element is the frustration at the lack of government support for such a hugely beneficial service.
|What’s your day job?
I’m an advanced ambulance technician with an NHS ambulance service. My additional skills are a love of being outdoors irrespective of weather, good communication skills, a good sense of humour and a passion for caring for those in need.
|Any additional roles within the team?
I’m a trustee and medical lead.
