It is with deep sadness that we share the news of the passing of Retired Search Dog Oppo. A dedicated and spirited companion, Oppo worked tirelessly alongside his handler, Bug, bringing boundless energy and determination to every callout or training. His unwavering commitment to his work was evident in every search, including one of his most notable finds – an elderly man discovered outside of his search area on a challenging embankment. That moment perfectly captured Oppo’s relentless drive to overcome any obstacle in pursuit of success.
Oppo wasn’t just Bug’s first dog, but a true member of the family who quickly proved he was destined for more than life as a pet. His exceptional skills and tireless dedication made him one of the most recognised faces of HSARDogs.
Oppo will be deeply missed by Bug, Ali, their family, and the entire Search & Rescue community. His legacy of service, courage, and love will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
