Tech social enterprise ‘SmartParks’ helps complete our warm, waterproof clothing campaign

SmartParks donates to UK specialist search and rescue dog team ‘Hampshire Search & Rescue Dogs’.

SmartParks (Formerly Shadowview) has match funded £1500 to provide essential, water proof jackets to volunteer team members from the Hampshire Search & Rescue Dogs, a specialist search and rescue dog team in the UK.

Kev Saunders, operations officer said, ‘We are delighted to receive this match funding. These funds are vital to replace our old waterproof jackets and provide new ones for our newest team members. It will enable these amazing, dedicated volunteers to continue to search safely and to provide the life-saving service to Hampshire and the surrounding counties free of charge.”

Hampshire Search & Rescue Dogs are a volunteer team that regularly looks for ways of developing their already top class search and rescue service they provide. Using innovative technology, the team recently introduced drone pilots to enhance searching capability alongside the search dogs. Kev Saunders, operations officer said, “Quick to deploy the search & rescue drone is an asset that helps decrease search time and helps save lives. The drone pilots also support Fire and Rescue at incidents such as wildfires, providing our emergency services with an additional search and rescue resource”.

Steve Roest, co-founder of Smart Parks said, “These search and rescue dogs and their handlers provide a vital, voluntary service to the UK’s emergency services. We are pleased to be able to award funding in order that these extraordinary dogs and team of volunteers can continue to search safely. We as an organisation use technology to improve conservation and wholeheartedly support Hampshire Search & Rescue Dogs’ use of innovative technology when it can significantly contribute to helping vulnerable people and the community.”
