We are delighted to share that we have received £13,980 from The National Lottery Community Fund for our project to keep our search and rescue response vehicles on the road. Thank you to National Lottery players for helping #MakeAmazingHappen.

We are incredible grateful to have received National Lottery funding from The National Lottery Community Fund. It will make significant difference to our team keeping our incident vehicles on the road. This support enables our amazing volunteers and search dogs to continue their vital voluntary work responding to emergencies and saving lives across Hampshire and the neighbouring counties. Harriet Mallinson, Volunteer Fundraising Lead, Hampshire Search & Rescue Dogs

Who are our vehicles and why are they so important?

Petra is our Incident Support Vehicle (ISV). She is a purpose built search and rescue response vehicle for our dog handlers and operational supports. Petra is essential as she carries all of the dog and human safety equipment necessary for missing person searches. This allows our volunteers to deploy quickly and this can increase the chance of survival of a missing person.

Search Dog Welfare Vehicle Ron provides facilities for our amazing volunteers to rest and refuel and to prepare the dogs to deploy multiple times at a search for the vulnerable and missing. The more voluntary hours we give to the emergency services at a search increases the missing persons chance of survival and bring loved ones home.
